Meet the Team

  • Vasant Rathava

    A post-graduate in Sociology, Vasant Rathwa leads the theme of Education at Bhasha's Adivasi Academy. He has 15+ years of experience in reaching out quality education to primary school goers among Adivasi and rural communities of Chhota Udepur District.

  • Nagin Rthava

    Having joined the Adivasi Academy at its inception way back in 1998, Nagin Rathwa has long experience of working for Adivasi Development. He has been part of community work in the villages of Chhota Udepur district and is presently the PRO at the Academy.

  • Mohan Rathava

    Mohan Rathwa is a trained laboratory technician. He has contributed to promoting traditional medicines and Ayurveda in the Chhota Udepur district and is presently working with children in 21 tribal villages to bridge the learning gap caused by the pandemic.

  • Sanjay Rathwa

    A post-graduate in Sociology, Sanjay Rathwa is passionate about picking new skills and has learnt book designing, film making and editing over the years. He is presently working with the Publication and Documentation Unit of Bhasha's Adivasi Academy

  • Rekha Chaudhari

    Belonging to south Gujarat, Rekha Chaudhari made Adivasi Academy her home more than a decade back. She leads the Academy's Vasantshala School and with her team of teachers, has evolved a Mother Tongue and Multilingual Education Programme to bring out-of-school children back to schools.

  • Rajendra Varia

    Extremely dedicated to the well-being and good health of the Adivasi and rural residents of the area, Rajendra Varia is a key member of the Adivasi Academy's Prakriti Health Centre. He assists in running the centre, spreading health awareness and aiding patients in need.

  • Bhavasing Rathava

    Bhavsing Rathwa began his journey with the Adivasi Academy's publishing unit. Ever open to new areas of work, he decided to join the health team and contributed to the promotion of Ayurveda and traditional tribal medicine in the area. With the University of Leicester's project, he has added camerawork and A/V documentation to his repertoire of skills.

  • Naran Rathava

    Naran Rathwa is with the Vaacha Museum of the Adivasi Academy. He has worked extensively with the local artists of the Chhota Udepur district and co-authored several books on Rathwa art and culture.

  • Vikesh Rathwa

    Vikesh Rathwa joined the Adivasi Academy after completing the institute's Post Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies. He works with the Academy's Vaacha Museum and has co-authored several books on Adivasi culture and heritage.

  • Sonal Baxi

    Sonal Baxi has extensive experience of working with Adivasi and Denotified and Nomadic Communities in the areas of arts and culture, education, development, human rights and publishing. She is with the Bhasha Research and Publication Centre and leads Fundraising and Project Management.

  • Vipul Kapadia

    Vipul Kapadia, is a Co-ordinator of Bhasha Research and Publication Centre. He received a Ford Foundation fellowship for certificate courses in Community based micro finance from Kenya and Canada. He has 25 years of experience of working with Tribal Art, Culture, Languages and Development.
